Research Interests

  • Spintronics
  • Organic semiconductors

My research activity focuses on the electronic properties of organic semiconductors and their correlation with the unique morphology of this class of materials. The combination of electrical characterization and optical spectroscopy of charge carriers, a method developed in my PhD thesis (Charge Accumulation spectroscopy of organic semiconductors), has been successfully implemented in studying charge trapping effects related to oxygen contamination. During my time at the university of Potsdam I further developed this method for the analysis of charge transport in semicrystalline polymers. Here at the Hitachi Cambridge Laboratory I am primarily involved in employing optical and electrical methods to the analysis of spin injection and spin transport in organic semiconductors.

Recent Research projects

I am currently involved in the ERC funded synergy grant on the project "Spin-charge conversion and spin caloritronics at hybrid organic-inorganic interfaces", studying spin dynamics in hybrid systems.
